When are you going to come to Newcastle, Scotland, Dublin, Sydney? I receive mails on a daily basis asking me these very questions. Lots of you it seems want a flirting event to take place in or near your home town and so do I. Maybe you can get your local singles group to invite me to run a special flirting evening for members. Sometimes the only way it will happen is if you are prepared to help organise it. What does this involve?

First we need to know if your town fits the criteria.

Location
Are you central to a lot of big towns from which people would be prepared to travel. For example, Newcastle is situated close enough to Scotland to draw people from there. It is also within a train journey of many northern towns. According to my sources, it has lots of night life, is a fun city and there are plenty of suitable venues at reasonable cost where we can run a course.

Singles Scene
I'm currently living in Eastbourne [some call it zimmerville] which is definitely not large enough to run an event and it's singles scene consists mainly of pensioners and young people who happen to live there cos that's where they were born. In complete contrast, Brighton, some 30 miles away, has a massive singles scene [hetero AND gay] and is a town that attracts people like a magnet. It's happening, young, trendy and full of amazing places to hang out. It would also attract people from all over the south coast of England, as well as not so far away counties like Hampshire and Surrey and even London which is only 1 hour away by car [from South London] and by train [from Victoria]

Transport/Accommodation
Is your town on a great transport system? Brighton is easily reached from London and has a myriad of low cost good hotels.

So what would you have to do?

1. Locate and check out suitable venues. If you decide to get involved, I'll let you know the requirements and you will book it on my behalf

2. Distribute advertising leaflets [provided by me] in the town via various sources [dating agencies, bars, social groups].

3. Place an advert in the local newspaper

4. Locate and prepare a list of budget and tourist type accommodation that is close to the venue

5. Locate a local bar that is close to the venue where we can socialise after the course

6. Send out a press release to the local newspaper and radio station [I will write editorial if they require it and be available to talk on local radio usually via telephone]. I'll also offer a free place for a radio competition provided they allow the person to come back after the course and give feedback

What would you get for all this

1. I'd pay you a % of the fees paid by each person you book onto the course

2. You get to attend the course as a participant

3. You get to network and approach lots of local groups and build up your own social circle!
