FINDING THE MESSAGE
I don't know about you, but I have a large collection of books on personal
development. It's one addiction I don't intend to curtail. And strangely,
I see a book and buy it and sometimes don't really read it until much later.
The Celestine Prophecy, an Experiential Guide is one of those books.. I
read the original book and bought the guide, but it wasn't until now that
this book really made sense. Like many, I have wobbled through the ups and
downs of living, loving and working, and often I have found myself turning
intuitively to just the right book.
Books guided me to the life I now lead. In 1985 I stumbled across a book
called 'Wishcraft' by Barbara Sher, in a bookshop in San Francisco. It made
me gasp as I realised that I didn't have to live this life of anger and
resentment but that I could do work I love and love the work I do... It took
some time for me to get the message.. because that was 17years ago!! A lot
has happened since then.
One of the great things about the way Richard Bandler works is this
unconscious programming. I know many people have criticised him and talked
of manipulation.. but this just isn't true. I had the pleasure of logging
Richard, Michael and Paul when I was assisting with McKenna Breen. I
remember looking through the words I'd typed in trance realising that
Richard's unconscious messages are all basic good stuff.. Go out and make
someone feel good for no good reason.. is one that has always stuck with me
and there are loads more.
Richard did programme me, and thank god. He programmed me to work on myself
and to do the 'impossible' and much more. All of us have spent a lifetime
of being programmed by all kinds of shit. When we sit in a bus or train in
the winter, we are surrounded by horrible viruses, flu and the like... and
yet some people never catch anything.. Their immune system and constitution
is so strong they are able to resist. We don't just have a physical immune
system. I like to think that we have what I call a 'mental immune system'.
When we are off centre and not being the best of who we are, we are
vulnerable and our mental immune system [MIS] is weak... we are then open to
catching all the awful thought viruses that people mostly unconsciously throw
our way.
They are much more threatening than any flu virus because flu goes away.
Often those thought viruses linger in our system and guide our lives.. making
us unhappy and discontent with our lives. Recently I made up my mind to
move to a small studio by the river near Teddington. On telling a friend,
she said 'ooh it's by a bus-stop and it's low ceilings.. you might not be
able towrite there. I love her dearly but I had to chant inside my head to
dismiss this thought.. saying 'it's only temporary and if JK Rowling can
write a billion dollar bestseller in a coffee bar, I can write in a small
studio!!! I really had to counteract her well meaning but potential harmful
virus. Learning and doing NLP, the work of Joseph Riggio and much more has
taught me that we have the power to build up our MIS and resist viruses that
damage our system. It's not always easy.. but then it's not always easy
to build up a six pack or shapely arms, we have to pull the weights and run
the miles.. but the end result is always worth it.
I recently came across the work of someone called Abraham. Now I don't know
if you believe in channeling or not as this work is meant to be channeled. It doesn't matter. I read Marianne Williamson's book 'A return to love'
which is full of references to god. On the first page I crossed out God and
put in 'Universe'. Thereafter I was able to take in her amazing message
without idea about traditional gods getting in the way. That's my stuff, but
I found a way round it. When I first saw my boyfriend in his glasses which
are rather horrible [he normally wears contacts] , I thought yuk.. but then I
said to myself..look through them to the real person... Now it doesn't make
any difference to me...
The work of Abraham, in the same way as the work of Joseph Riggio and many
others that have brought me a very positive message and ways of changing my
life, says things quite simply. My friend Clare Walker who is both a
spiritual and highly logical gal introduced me to it.. saying it put all this
esoteric touchy feely stuff in a way that made sense to her. It was she who
said forget where it's meant to come from and read it for what it says. I
read it and put it aside.. BUT just recently I met some friends who are into
it too. I have read the work more and it has been a godsend to me [or should
I say universe-send!!]...
Joseph Riggio teaches us the basic idea that there is a way of being that is
completely and utterly us at our best.. and we've been there and can get
there again by recognising in our body how we are when we are like that..
It's a re-learning of how we manifest our true essence. Together with
this way of being, he leads us to our sense of connection with the world and
gives us a way of re-membering it... The way of being and the connection join
together to coalesce into our intent for us in the world. This is not
intention but just a sense of what's right for us - call it a misson or life
work or purpose. it's all the same. I call it my guiding star... and use
it as a diviner and check whether my path is working in harmony with this
intent or at odds...
Abraham talks of the law of attraction and vibration. He says that we
attract exactly what we vibrate.. For example, in my own sphere of flirting,
finding a mate, I find that many people say 'I really do want a relationship'
but they are thinking from a place of lack rather than abundance. They
think, I really want it, but there's no one out there.. or I haven't met any
good ones yet, or they all have something wrong..or I'm too old, fat,
ugly.... They talk of being fed up with being single and hating it... This is
thinking from lack. On the other hand we can think from abundance... This is
where you say 'I am happy being single and my life works.. and I now know
that out there the right person or succession of persons [if you don't
believe mating is for life]... are waiting for me.. AND when they vibrate
the good stuff and live from abundance get what they want... It's all there
inside us anyway just waiting to manifest it if we only work at releasing it.
I used to do this with money and am working hard on vibrating another way.
I used to say 'I'm doing well, but I'm not making any money'..I used to say
'I want that really and truly, but I can't afford it'... Now I say, I want
that and it is mine.. I feel it as mine, I see it as mine and I hear it as
mine.. It tastes great and smells wonderful and I intend to be drawn to it...
as it is waiting out there for me. When I started my courses I said to
myself 'I'll sell it via PR' I was absolutely sure the press would be
interested and to this day I've only ever paid for one set of adverts [when
we made a televised version and needed people to know what was going on]..
I truly believed in it so much that it happened in
abundance and with great synchronicity. I may have told you before, but when
I met a new neighbour who asked me what I did, instead of saying I'm a
corporate trainer I said, before I'd even done it,I run flirting courses..I
had no idea she worked for the Guardian and from Jan 99 I've been in the
press constantly..
Today I read a magazine called Shape which has some makeover stuff by me
along with a load of other people. I saw one person and felt a horrible envy
coming over me.. Why should HE have a TV show.. and suddenly I caught myself
and turned my thoughts to 'there's plenty for all.. and I will find my right
place in the media when they're ready for me... or something similar.. It
felt much better..
Listening to the Abraham stuff has helped me catch the virus thoughts... and
replace them with ones of hope and possibility...
They call it the science of deliberate creation.. and it's just a name. I
once heard Laura Berman Fortgang speaking and she said 'why are all the self
help books saying the same thing - because we're just reminding you of the
basic truths you already know but seem to have forgotten'.. How true..
whether it is in the form of a book purporting to be about flirting, or a
channeled series of dialogues on a website, the message is the same...Healthy
food comes in all forms and many different foods have the same vitamin
content and do us the same amount of good. We all have different taste and
it's important to move beyond just NLP and look for other things...as well...
What Richard did was to open out the channels to more.. I wasn't surprised
when I'd finished my stint of assisting for years that I had a marked
interest in the esoteric, shamanism, and other stuff... Joseph opened me to
the idea of a wonderful me that can do anything and also the concept of
mythology as a description of how life is in the want of any other way to
explain it.. [and much more].. and now I'm getting the message again via
Abraham work... There's loads of stuff out there and if it works for you.. go
for it.. and you can allow your unconscious to lead you to find new ideas and
new ways of putting the message that work for you.
Through the Abraham work I've realised that everything in my life was
attracted by ME and my thoughts.. for a reason..making me look at myself and
how I create my reality. In the past people came into my life and the
results weren't so fantastic and I blamed them.. No one is to blame.. I thank
them all for teaching me.. even if it was painful.. and I made it so if it
was....The results are ALL fantastic and have taught me to listen more to
me.. and avoid having to relearn the lesson over and over and over and more
painfully each time. It made me realise that I have to vibrate along the
lines of what I want to have happen... in every waking thought..

The Celestine Prophecy experiential guide is a more conscious explanation of
the 9 Insights... and it's a wonderful guide to leading your life.... Being
aware of coincidences has been marvellous.. instead of going 'how strange' I
now go.. hmmm as expected...Synchronicity NOT coincidence. i.e. it was all
part of the plan, not just a haphazard bumping into. And wasn't it
synchronous that within ten minutes of a friend emailing me to say she's
recommended me to a motor car company as a trainer because flirting and
hypnotic language is in keeping with the car's sexy image, that the BBC
called me to talk about taking part in a programme which takes a salesman and
gives him more confidence.. they think my flirting is great for selling...
and wasn't it synchronous that the guy in question is a car salesman.. And
all the while I've been vibrating the idea that I want more corporate gigs
which will bring in lots of money with the higher purpose of giving me time
to explore and expand my work... and to continue to run my seminars.. which
are wonderfully uplifting and a joy to do..
I could go on and on about synchronicity.. and I wonder if you are realising
how you are shaping events and drawing stuff to you.. I realised that my
mother has done the same thing. She recently 'fell out' with a relative..
It's the second time with a female relative who is not as good looking or
competent. My mother has helped these relatives but they have just bitten
back with jealous comments. I realised that although she is kind and loving
and has great intentions when she gives help out.. she is vibrating her
perfection. She hates the idea of anyone seeing her not looking great [not
so bad with my brother, father and myself thank god!].. and she hates the
idea of appearing as if she has problems and never tells anyone about them..
She vibrates the sense of perfection and without realising it is attracting
people who because of their stuff really resent this. I told her today that
perhaps if she appeared more vulnerable it wouldn't happen. I'm not
talking about telling everyone your problems in great detail but of not
saying 'Everything's hunky dory' when it isn't... I learned this lesson from
my mother and I make a point of letting my clients and particpants know that
I'm just travelling my seeking path as they are and not to look to me as a
model of perfection... I can't think of anything worse than being a guru..
and we all know what happened to Tad James and Tony Robbins [perfect life,
perfect wife...Tad runs off with a masseuse and Tony divorces perfect wife]...
